The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes (2-2) will face the Walled Lake Central Vikings (0-4) in week 5 MHSAA football action this Friday.

The Vikings finished 2-7 last year and placed seventh in the Lakes Valley Conference.

Walled Lake Central achieved signature victories with a win 36-34 over Milford and a 38-37 win over Waterford Kettering last year.

Walled Lake Central is 0-4 this season.

The Vikings look to improve on their record with a better running game and an improved defense.

“They have a tradition of toughness,” says Cranes Head Coach Ben Jones.  “We must prepare for a team that has a tenacity and motivation.”

Walled Lake Central will be led by 5’10” 180 lbs. senior RB/CB Jaylin Wise,  6’0” 170 WR/LB Dillon Fulcher, and 6’2” 160 lbs. sophomore QB/S Ryan Nelson.

Cranbrook entered in to the 2019 season as second place finishers of the CHSL AA-Division. They also have also made five straight appearances in the MHSAA playoffs.

“We have a lot of positive energy going into this game, as well see a lot of improvement in our players.” says Coach Jones.

The Cranes achieved signature victories with a 19-14 win over Dearborn Divine Child and a 42-7 win over Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard last year.

Cranbrook is 2-2 this season, with wins over Riverview Gabriel Richard and Pontiac High.

Cranbrook will be led by 6’2’ 205 lbs. senior ATH/LB Jack Fairman, 5’11 175 lbs. senior RB/LB Tariq Muhammad,  In the trenches, the Cranes will be led by 6’3” 260 lbs. senior Will Kerr, 6’4” 265 Ahmad Masood, and 6’3” 240 lbs. junior Bryce Hall.

Last year the Cranes defeated Walled Lake in a close game 28-25, but Cranbrook will not rest on last year’s success.

"We just want to execute and play solid football", said Coach Jones.

This non-conference game will be played Friday September 27, 2019 at Walled Lake Central Stadium Field #1- Turf.   The field is located at 1600 Oakley Park Road, Walled Lake, MI 48390. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
