The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes (0-0) will take on the Detroit Loyola Bulldogs (2-0) in Week 3 CHSL AA-division action.

Cranbrook opens their season at home after a delayed start to high school football contests because of the ongoing concerns around COVID-19.

Drawing a tough rival, the Cranes begin their fall campaign against CHSL- AA rival Detroit Loyola who is of to a 2-0 start.

Loyola defeated St. Clair Shores Lake Shore 39-0 in their opener and followed up with a gutsy win over Dearborn Divine Child 26-22.

The Bulldogs are led on offense by junior QB Anthony Garrett who started the season by going 17-for-24 passing for 285 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win over St. Clair Shores Lake Shore.

On defense, Loyola is led by senior DT Derrick Harmon. At 6’4” and 320 lbs., Harmon was heavily recruited by several colleges. He will play football for Michigan State next year.

Cranbrook brings its own rising stars to the contest.

The Cranes feature senior DT Bryce Hall, who holds some 21 offers to football programs across the nation. At 6’3” 250 lbs., he will be a force to be reckoned with in the trenches.

Junior QB Shane Wittenberg, junior RB Travis Ilitch, and senior WR Eli Asmar look to contribute offensively for Cranbrook this year.

On defense, senior LB Drew Lauer, sophomore LB John Kersh, and DL Max Spradlin will help sustain the Cranes championship defense.

Senior K/P Chase Paulus holds one offer to kick in college next year and is a 5-star rated kicker by Kohl’s.

Cranbrook has lost the last two match ups between these programs by small margins. The Cranes look to have a better outcome this time around as they open the 2020 football season.
