Cranbrook drops close divisional game to Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 24-17 on the road.

The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes lost a close game to Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard Irish 24-17 on the road last night in CHSL divisional action. The Cranes fall to 1-1 in the division and 2-3 on the season. The Irish now lead the head to-head series 3-2 all-time.


Senior WR Tommy Hamann caught 6 passes for 205 yards and 4 TD’s in the win for the Irish.


Senior RB Ethan Peruski led the rushing attack going 25 for 127 and 2 TDs for the Cranes.

Junior QB Preston Washer went 4-for-9 and 100 yards passing. Sophomore WR Jacob Speller caught 4 passes for 12 yards for Cranbrook.


Junior K Christos Tzoumakis kicked a 32-yard FG to add to the Cranes scoring.


“Gabriel Richard was able to make key plays with their passing game”, said Cranes Head Coach Nick LaFontaine. “They did a good job of getting favorable matchups against our defense. They executed their game plan well.”


While the Cranbrook did not get the win, the team continues to see small victories.


“We were able to focus while on the road and play in tough conditions,” said Coach LaFontaine. “We continue to learn new lessons each week and build on them. We are making steady progress towards a stronger football team.”


Cranbrook continues their CHSL divisional schedule next week on the road as they face Macomb Lutheran North, while the Irish take on Wyoming Kellogsville at home.
