The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes (1-0) will face the University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs (1-0) in Week 2 CHSL action. Both teams are coming off season opening wins last week.

Cranbrook comes off a road win, getting past Pontiac High 41-0. But the Cranes are not resting on their opening victory.

“I was proud of the team last week, “said Cranes Head Coach Ben Jones. “They played with a toughness against a team with playmakers. We will need to keep that intensity facing our next opponent.”

Senior RB/LB Jack Fairman and senior RB/LB Tariq Muhammad had an outstanding game, as did senior WR/DB Jacob Peruski and junior OL/DL Bryce Hall.

Junior K Chase Paulus kicked a 50-yard FG in the Cranes winning performance.

U of D won their season opener 17-6 against Roseville. With a powerful run game, the Cubs racked up 175 yards rushing.

UD senior TE/LB Dorian Mausi is a top-ranked college recruit who has committed to play college football at Duke University. Senior WR/CB Carson Hinton also is a top recruit holding offers from Big Ten, ACC, and MAC schools.

“U of D is a talented team,” said Coach Jones. “They are well-coached and make few mistakes.”

Last year the Cranes lost to U of D 36-29 in OT at home. A kick return by Hinton for a TD made the difference

“Our division continues to get better and more competitive. Everyone is motivated to find new ways to win. We look forward to a good game against U of D”, said Coach Jones.

The game will be played Friday at Hazel Park High School. The address is 23400 Hughes, Hazel Park MI 48030. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
