The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes (2-1) outmatched by the Harper Woods Chandler Park Eagles (1-2

The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes (2-1) lost a non-conference game to the Harper Woods Chandler Park Eagles (1-2) 26-14. The loss brings the Cranes to 2-1 on the season, as they prepare to move into their Catholic League Schedule next week.

The Cranes began the contest in good fashion, scoring on a 1-yard run by senior RB Jalen Allen to establish a 7-0 lead. After a stalled drive by the Eagles, the Cranes would score on a 26-yard pass play from junior QB Trevor McConnell to sophomore Kobi Russell to find a 14-0 lead.

The Cranes would enter half time with a 14-8 lead.

“We were able to establish our intensity early, “said Cranes head coach Joe D’Angelo. “Our team executed well and made relatively few mistakes. “

In the second half, the Eagles would find a more favorable flight path. Powered by the mobility of sophomore QB Marquez Steele, Chandler Park would score 18 unanswered second half points to find their first win on the season.

“Chandler Park made some good adjustments at half-time to move the ball. They were able to get their kids in good situations”, said Coach D’Angelo. “They are a well-coached team and deserve a lot of credit.”

This is the second win by Chandler Park over Cranbrook in the two contests that they have had. Cranbrook lost 50-8 to Chandler Park in the 2014 MHSAA district semi-finals-the Cranes first playoff appearance since entering the Catholic League in 2010.

The Eagles now enter their Charter School League schedule against Detroit University Prep (0-2) at home. Chandler Park has won the Charter School League title every year since 2012.

The Cranes will face Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes (2-1) in an away game. The Cranes finished second in the CHSL Intersectional I Division last year.
